Keynote: Landing on the SUN, by author and Super User evangelist Michael Doane
While a majority of companies with enterprise applications fail to adequately support their end user population, even fewer succeed at building and managing a sustainable super user network.  As evolution in this regard has been sloth-slow over the past thirty years, we have finally arrived at a tipping point in the marketplace whereby companies that have not evolved now find themselves in need of a “Super User (R)evolution”.  Michael will briefly describe the landscape of past failures and how, through the leadership of Ginger Luttrell and many others in her sphere are leading a true revolution. Through their ever-more-formalized methods, the enterprise applications world is moving into an environment wherein the super users are gaining both respect and improved practices by which they increasingly bring measurable (and visible!)  business benefit to their companies. Your takeaway is the knowledge of what can now be accomplished and how you can join in the growing vanguard of Super User revolutionaries.

Organizations all over the world are utilizing SAP solutions to revolutionize, revitalize, and modernize their business processes. These “digital transformations,” if done properly, are game changers for the organization. However, while the technology decisions and implications are at the forefront of the execution strategy, it is important to recognize the effect digital transformation has on the people within your organization. In this session, we will discuss challenges & best practices for enlisting super users to help learners succeed in the digital world. We’ll discuss methods that super users may use to engage the modern learner and address how the three generations of workers within your organization are likely to experience digital transformations in different ways. Join us, as we explore digital transformation through the lens of your people.

How to Manage Spreadsheet Risk from Within Your SAP Environment (Excel4apps)
Are you frustrated at the rigid and complex reports available in SAP? Are you still using Excel to do a lot of the heavy lifting for reporting?
Regardless of IT policy, Excel is still the go-to tool for most users to transform their data into something meaningful. Yet, static spreadsheets inherently create issues around version control, complex cross referencing, master data references and calculation errors - all of which is an audit risk. The responsibility for this tends to fall between the business and IT and can become quite cumbersome.
Attend this webinar to hear how you can overcome these issues using an Excel add-in that directly and securely connects to SAP.
What You'll Learn:
  • Achieve a Genuine Single Version of the Truth - Discover how you can access live SAP data in real-time from an Excel front-end. Your data remains in SAP, but you review and analyze in Excel.
  • Eliminate Numerous Manual Processes Involved with SAP to Excel Integration – Learn how Excel4apps solutions can help your organization create user-driven templates which can be used for repeatable actions, such as reporting and journal entries.
  • Utilize Excel to Satisfy Audit Requirements – Reduce the effort your organization needs to provide required data to audit teams by using Excel formulas, data analysis and attached supporting information.

Alignment Optimization: Supercharge Your Super Users (ISG)
Many organizations struggle to maximize business value from their Super User programs due to a lack of leadership alignment and support. Misalignments related to program objectives, executive involvement, governance, leadership potential, selection criteria, roles and responsibilities, and success metrics can negatively impact program execution. Optimizing alignment around program goals, assumptions, and barriers to success at the onset of any Super User program can help mitigate program risks and ensure critical leadership support is maintained throughout the duration of program.
  • Identify how alignment optimization can be utilized to maximize business value within a Super User program
  • Identify how Super Users can use analytics to accurately measure executive and leadership alignment
  • Engage long-term support for the Super User program and proactively manage program risks.

UPDATE:  This session is listed as a 2 part session in the ASUG Dallas Chapter meeting agenda.  1:00-1:45, 2:00-2:45 in room 9

Every Super User Program/Community follows some method or process to get Super Users identified, then onboarded, and later transitioned out.  You can do this by default or take a designed approach.

We have teamed up with Community Partner Configurable Management to combine process with a tool to teach how you can create a standardized, repeatable, and measurable approach to this very important process within a healthy Super User Community.
